Reflections on philosophy, mathematics and science.
Great cover! Paul Duro, a colleague of mine in Art History, wrote an excellent essay on this painter: “'Great and Noble Ideas of the Moral Kind': Wright of Derby and the Scientific Sublime,” in Art History 33 (September 2010): 660-79.
Thanks, I should check that out -- I found the painting intriguing, and it seemed a better idea than a bunch of math symbols!
